Ms Emily
Jones
Emily became a dental hygienist so she could work in
the field of orthodontics. When she had braces, she
also saw a hygienist, who made her visits more fun.
Emily likes to have fun, but most of all she likes to
achieve the best possible outcome for the patients.
Emily completed her Diploma of Oral Health Therapy
in Dental Hygiene at The University of Melbourne. Since
graduating, she has worked exclusively in orthodontic
practice. She has also taught the skills required to
work in an orthodontic clinic to dental therapists and
hygienists at The University of Melbourne. |

Having a hygienist in the practice enables us to increase
the level of care that we provide our patients. We are
able to deal with emergencies promptly, and can take
time explaining aspects of treatment in detail.
One of the most important aspects of a dental hygienists
job is to monitor the patient’s oral hygiene.
Emily checks the patient’s brushing at each visit,
offers friendly advice if there are any problems, ensuring
that at the end of treatment our patients have beautiful
smiles, and healthy teeth and gums to go with it. |
